Because of major building works, Feminist Archive North will not reopen until October or November 2021. However, the Special Collections reading room is now open again on a limited basis, so it is possible to view our collections.
There are four researcher desks available, Tuesday to Thursday, 10am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. Booking has to be made online, at least five days in advance. You’ll find information on how to do this is at https://library.leeds.ac.uk/info/1504/using_collections/78/plan_a_visit/2
You can search the FAN collections at https://library.leeds.ac.uk/special-collections/collection/705/feminist_archive_north
If you want to use this service to view FAN materials, please bear in mind that some of our collections are not catalogued, or are only partially catalogued, and it may not be possible for you to identify exactly what you want to see. Special Collections staff are unable to give advice on the FAN collections, and as the FAN office remains closed, we are currently unable to assist researchers in retrieving relevant materials. You are, of course, welcome to email us at fa_north@yahoo.co.uk and we will do our best to help.
