Celebrating Women in Leeds

Posted on 13th June 2018

Women’s Lives Leeds are hosting a free event on Wednesday 27 June to celebrate women and the 100 years of first getting the right to vote. All women are invited to come along and discuss issues important to them, share ideas, and debate with each other and local councillors. The idea behind the event is to enable women to contribute to and influence the shaping of local issues and politics. There will also be performances and exhibitions by women from Leeds who will showcase their creations and discuss how their crafts have aided their own empowerment.

The event is from 10.30am to 2.30pm at Oblong at Woodhouse Community Centre, 197 Woodhouse Street, Leeds LS26 2NY. Lunch and refreshments will be provided and the event also welcomes children, who will have their own area of fun activities. For more information and to book your free ticket go to https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/celebrating-women-in-leeds-tickets-46435059513?aff=es2
