• In Leeds, some activities/foci are: the family allowance campaign, (WL) petitions and leaflets (Villanueva, 1978).
• Feminist Books Collective begins in Leeds. This collective goes on to publish many books that are important to the WLM, including the anthology Conditions of Illusion (1974) and Lee Comer’s Wedlocked Women (1974).
• The Leeds Women’s Liberation Group is divided into regional/ neighbourhood groups (Woodhouse, Chapeltown, University etc.) because of the increasing numbers:
“I remember the day there were too many in my [living] room; I remember that day because I didn’t have enough chairs for everybody and there was everyone on the floor and there must have been about fifty women there. And that was the point where we decided we ought to sort of fragment and have smaller groups.” (Lee Comer, OHP Interview No. 1)
