We have finally finished the extensive task of conserving and cataloguing one of our largest collections: Women into Science and Engineering (WISE). The collection’s origins lie in the UK Resource Centre for Women in SET (science, engineering and technology), which was set up with government funding in Bradford in 2004. In 2012 the government funding for the UKRC ended and it rebranded itself as WISE and changed its focus. When it moved to different premises in 2014 it donated its archive to FAN.
The collection 0f 124 boxes includes minutes of meetings, leaflets, magazines, newsletters, guidance booklets, reports from events and courses, research reports, newspaper cuttings, publicity materials and printed bags. It also contains a number of wonderful posters such as the one shown here, which have been photographed but are not currently available to view online.
