The Feminist
Archive North is a charity and depends upon public
support, both financial and in kind, to survive
and expand. Although the focus of our collection
is on the time period covered by the Chronology
(1969 - 1979), we are always keen to expand our
collection locally, nationally and internationally
to preserve the herstory of our varied struggles
for future generations of women.
All the material in the collection has been donated
by individuals and by local, regional, national,
or international groups. If you have any material
from the early days of the Women's Liberation
Movement in Britain which you would like to donate
to the Archive then please contact
us via phone or email to discuss arrangements. It is also possible to donate electronic versions of materials such as digital photos or PDF files so you can keep your own collection while helping expand the Archive.
Likewise, if you are involved in any contemporary
feminist publications, groups, or campaigns and
would like your material to be stored in the Feminist
Archive North we would be delighted to hear from
you.
Volunteers are always needed to assist in sorting
out Archive material. There are a variety of tasks
available, for example: cataloguing documents
and making computer records of archival material.
If you are interested in these or have other skills
to offer the work of FAN, please email
for further details.
You can also support the work of the Archive
and the Oral History Project by becoming a Friend
