We are planning to hold a memorial gathering for Jalna on Saturday 5th August 2023 in the HEART Community Centre, Bennett Rd, Headingley, Leeds LS6 3HN  1pm for 1.30pm – 5pm.

There will be three speakers plus the opportunity to contribute your memories of Jalna.

Feminist Public Sculpture:
Celebrating Women’s Achievements in Leeds

Leeds Arts University, Blenheim Walk Gallery, Blenheim Walk, Leeds LS2 9AQ –  24 May – 04 July 2019

The exhibition showcases the work of four artists chosen to create a new public sculpture to celebrate the achievements of women in the city of Leeds.

Opening night: Thursday 23 May 5-7pm
Free entry. Booking not required.

CALLING ALL WOMEN ACTIVISTS – Lancaster University, with Heritage Lottery funding, is collecting stories of women’s activism and campaigning in the north of England. FAN is working with this project on an exhibition and day of talks in Leeds City Museum on 15th June (sorry for previous wrong date posted here) and we’re also encouraging women to participate in this project – contact them to be interviewed about all the great feminist activism you’ve been involved in!

The latest exhibition in the Stanley and Audrey Burton Gallery at Leeds University shows beautiful and interesting work by 50 women artists, many whose work is rarely seen. The accompanying catalogue is wonderfully illustrated, a great read and brilliant value.

The exhibtion is on till 27th July and is open Monday: 1pm–5pm  Tuesday–Saturday: 10am–5pm  Closed Sundays, bank holidays
